Sisterhood

 

Sisterhood, to Phi Mu, is knowing you have wonderful sisters to be there when you need them. They are shoulders to cry on and friends you can count on for a lifetime. We bring everyone closer throughout the year by planning events such as Crawfish Boils, retreats, movie nights, and much more. We also have weekly meetings where we participate in bonding activities that help us communicate and learn more about each other. These meetings also are a way to bring all the sisters together at least once a week. This is a way to form close bonds and to fit in time for each other while having such busy schedules. We take great pride in our bond of sisterhood and it is something that we hold very dear to our hearts. Each sister has a big sister and is given an oppurtunity to take a little sister. This experience brings something special to our sisters and give many of the women in our chapter a chance to have that special sister and best friend then may of never had. No matter what, you'll always have someone to do something with, be it going to church or going on vacation!

 

Phi Mu Poem

For me, a Phi Mu is a girl with inner beauty

that sparkles in her eyes and glows in her smile. 

It is her warm heart that brings sunshine on a cloudy day. 

Her smile is a caress which peeps through your troubles

and quickly dries your tears

despite the roadblocks in front of her-

a Phi Mu is a woman who accepts them as challenges to overcome. 

A Phi Mu is a beauty sitting cross-legged in cut offs

giving you sisterly advice. 

She is a sister, mother, and a friend all rolled into one. 

Yet a Phi Mu can be playful, coy, and mischievous. 

She has the power to lift your hopes with one glance-

one twinkle of those loving eyes. 

When a Phi Mu smiles, she brings courage and hope to your heart.  Laughter procedes her, happiness walks with her,

and peace follows her. 

She means everything to me,

she is my Phi Mu sister.
