Scholarship

Phi Mu Alpha Upsilon thrives on and values academic excellence. Our chapter GPA has remained above the all-women's average at McNeese and at the national level for several years. Each girl strives to bring out the best in her sister, while also maintaining her own scholastic goals.

        Alpha Upsilon has a cumulative chapter GPA of 3.37, with twenty-eight sisters obtaining a 4.0 this past semester. Currently, 61% of our sisters have above a 3.5 GPA. We certainly do not let all of this hard work go unnoticed. Every semester Alpha Upsilon treats its 4.0 GPA members to a nice dinner at a restaurant of their choice. We also recognize members with 3.5+ GPAs on our medias and present them with academic excellence certificates. Awards are also given for those who have the most improved GPA to show that all their hard work is paying off. In order to keep our overall GPA up, we have a study-wars system in place between each Phi Class. This allows sisters to gain points through good grades on exams, quizzes, and assignments, as well as by making study guides and flash cards.  The class at the end with the most points wins a pizza party. We always strive to reward those who work hard continually throughout the semester in various ways.
