Each fall the three National Panhellenic Council sororities conduct a Formal Recruitment process, within the first few weeks of the beginning of the semester. Formal Recruitment is four consecutive days giving potential new members the chance to view and meet women from all three sororities. On the final day of the process "bids" are given out to the potential new members by each individual sorority. Membership in a sorority is voluntary and is the result of mutual selection.
Once pledging Phi Mu, our new members go through the Phi Program to learn the history, values, and meaning of Phi Mu. During this semester, the new members receive their big sisters and become initiated into Phi Mu.
Throughout the year, we also host several events including philanthropies, formals, and sisterhood events. Our annual Man of the Year pageant takes place every Spring to raise money for our national philanthropy, Children's Miracle Network. Our Formal also takes place during the Spring semester. We host a sisterhood retreat once a year to strengthen our bond and learn more about each other.
